Great Start to Spring NCSL Season
Sunday, April 5th, 2009An efficiently-sided Loudoun got the 2009 NCSL season off to a great start on a beautiful Sunday morning on a beautiful grass field by defeating VYS 6-2. Coach Evert made no substitutions the entire game. You see, he couldn’t, only 7 guys were there on this Spring Break Sunday. But that was all we needed [...]
Great Arlington Tournament Weekend
Wednesday, March 11th, 2009The Arlington tournament was great: warm, turf, and solid soccer. They boys played three games over the two days. We won game one 2-1. (Owen, Gio via Tim) We lost game two 4-1. (Remy via Nathan) We tied game three 3-3. (Cameron to Gio, Tim, Nathan)
If you weren’t, you should have been there.
Bethesday Tourney Day 2: Referee Conspiracy?
Sunday, November 23rd, 2008Today’s game proves what I’ve always believed: there is a universal conspiracy by the soccer referees to declare a team the “winner” just because they have scored the most goals. Loudoun was CLEARLY the better team on the field today. But just because they had ONE fewer goal than the other team, the referee declared [...]
Bethesda Tourney Day 1: The Good, The Bad…. The Good
Saturday, November 22nd, 2008Had two games today. In the first game against Arlington, Loudoun came out scoring and took the first half 2 to 0, both goals by Gio. Then something weird happened in the second half and the other guys scored 5 goals against us. We lost a game we should have won.
In the second game against [...]
Mud.
Monday, November 3rd, 2008Remember that great Ray Muth field we played on two weeks ago?
Somebody watered it.
Moms got a good opportunity to test their laundry detergent.
Oh, and Loudoun lost in a thriller to CYA REAL. This time, our opponent scored in the first minute. Then Gio tied it in the 7th with an assist from Nathan. They answered in [...]
Loudoun Wins in Tight Matchup
Saturday, November 1st, 2008From the first minute to the last, Loudoun led the match against BRYC today. Gio scored in the first minute off an assist by Owen. Then in the third minute Owen was there to poke it into the net to make it 2-0. BRYC scored in the 16th minute and then we got another goal [...]
Great First Half…
Sunday, October 19th, 2008… where’d you go the second half? Loudoun had a great first half game against REST today with goals by Gio, Tim, and Remy off an Owen assist. Felt pretty good until REST scored in the 35th minute. Then we knew something was up. The clock moved way too slowly with them scoring again in [...]
OK, Well, That Was a Defeat
Sunday, October 5th, 2008Remember how I was sayin’ that yesterday’s matchup wasn’t a defeat and all? Today’s matchup against VYS was a defeat, plain and simple. Let’s see… 2nd minute, them. 26th minute, them. 29th minute, them. 33rd minute, them. 40th minute, them. 57th minute, them. Whoops, forgot a 43rd minute melee when I think someone bopped the [...]
Loudoun Wins 9/10ths Against Ashburn?
Saturday, October 4th, 2008Have you ever heard the saying, “Possession is nine-tenths of the law?” If that is true, then Loudoun laid down the law against Ashburn this morning. The ball stayed on Ashburn’s defensive half for the majority of the game. But unfortunately on a couple of those rare occasions when it did squirt away, Ashburn was [...]
