CHAMPIONS!

What a great victory today. Loudoun 98B Black are the champions of their U10 OBGC Tournament division. Their victory came over MSC Mutiny Black who defeated them yesterday 4-2. Loudoun, missing players Cameron and Rudra, was nonetheless hungry for the victory this morning and played a beautiful game. MSC scored first at the 12 minute mark but Loudoun recovered with a goal by Gio off an assist by Nate in the 19th minute to tie the game 1-1. Several missed opportunities by Loudoun either sprayed above or beside the MSC goal or into their keeper’s hands. The Loudoun defense, with Ben as the team’s first ever full-game keeper, held MSC to no additional goals. The ref’s whistle blew after 50 minutes with the score 1-1 and Loudoun was headed into their first ever penalty kick tie breaker. Tim was chosen as keeper during the PK rounds and our kickers were chosen from those who were playing at the time of the final whistle. It was great to have Cameron back today even if only on the sidelines.
